Morgan Sindall’s housing arm Lovell to build 1,500 homes over 13 years

Morgan Sindall been appointed by Greenwich council as the development partner for a £269m redevelopment of three council housing estates in the borough.

Lovell, which is the housing arm of construction group Morgan Sindall, will work alongside housing association Asra to transform the three estates, to the east and west of Woolwich town centre, in 1,500 mixed-tenure homes.

The work is subject to extensive community consultation and the plans successfully completing the full planning process. If this is achieved then work will begin in May 2014 and is expected to take 13 years to complete.

John Morgan, chief executive of Morgan Sindall, said he was “delighted” to be selected for the job, which fits the group’s strategy of focusing on long-term regeneration projects.
