Leading figures from the construction industry will be called as witnesses in a parliamentary inquiry next week.

MPs at the trade and industry select committee will hear oral evidence from David Fison, Skanska’s chief executive, on behalf of the Construction Confederation; from Nick Raynsford, chairman of the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and former construction minister; and John Colley, president of the Construction Products Association.

The main topic is thought to be the industry’s capacity to deliver large projects.

Graham Watts, the CIC chief executive, said the written submissions from the organisations, which will be the basis for discussion, focused on the need for the industry to grow in the next 10 years.
