Lawyers for Multiplex and Cleveland Bridge (CBUK) have begun their closing statements in the second part of the trial between the two firms.

Multiplex (now Brookfield Europe) is trying to claw back £15m as well as damages for the cost of replacing steel contractor CBUK after it walked off the Wembley stadium project in 2004.

A ruling is expected in September on how much each party owes the other.

Meanwhile, it is understood that M&E contractor Haden Young has scored a victory on preliminary issues in a case against Laing O’Rourke over work on the £113m Coventry City football stadium. Haden Young is claiming about £3.5m.
