The organisers of Luxembourg and the Greater Region Capital of Culture 2007 have unveiled the €19m (£13m) Grand-Duc Jean Modern Art Museum.

The museum, designed by Louvre Museum pyramids architect Leoh Ming Pei, has been commissioned as part of the €45m (£30m) cultural event that will involve the creation and renovation of 10 buildings in Luxembourg and neighbouring countries. Pei's design for the 10,000 m² building, which is due to open in July, was inspired by Luxembourg fortification walls.
