Permission for a visitors’ centre at Stonehenge has been granted but will only go ahead if plans to build a tunnel under Salisbury Plain are given the green light.

English Heritage wants the A303 to run through a tunnel so visitors can see Stonehenge free of roads and traffic. The project includes a flyover, 2.1km tunnel and bypass. The £67m visitor centre was designed by Denton Corker Marshall and will be project managed by Gardiner & Theobald.
