Balfour Beatty and Miller Construction among the winners on building and civils frameworks

Lafarge freight rail link in Kent

Network Rail has awarded framework contracts worth a combined £250m for the delivery of building and civils work on the Scotland and London North Eastern routes.

Seven firms have won places, including Balfour Beatty and Miller Construction, which is now part of Galliford Try.

The works will include more than 1,000 maintenance, renewals and enhancement projects. Project will range from improving, bridges, tunnels, footbridges and to work on station buildings as part of Network Rail’s £38bn development programme in control period five, running between 2014 and 2019.

The frameworks will initially run for three years, but can be extended by up to another three years.
