Ex-head of European policy Jill Craig fills role while Brian Berry is appointed head of public policy following shake up.

Jill Craig is to become head of the RICS' public affairs unit after the long-awaited results of the division's shake-up were unveiled today.

Craig, previously head of European policy, has already stepped into the role. Brian Berry, who was head of land, built environment and construction policy, has become head of UK public policy.

Michael Chambers, whose role as director of policy strategy has been scrapped, is to leave the RICS on 3 March to set up as a consultant, focusing on the property and built environment.

The RICS said that it would continue to work with Chambers, who will complete current projects including Heritage Works. He spent more than 25 years with the organisation.

William Tew, formerly head of property policy, will leave the RICS on 30 April after eight years with the body.
