Visuals show finished station once complete in 2018

Network Rail has released new visualisations of how London Bridge Station will look when work completes in 2018.

The new images show the Shard in relation to the internal and external concourses, the piazza and a new entrance onto St Thomas Street.

The major overhaul of the station has been conducted to allow for an upgraded Thameslink service as well as easier passenger flow through the station.

The construction work has however become a headache for the rail operator. Earlier this month Network Rail was fined £2m for chronic delays and timetabling failures at London Bridge.

The Office of Rail and Road fined the operator for the delays caused by upgrade work over Christmas and New Year and for failing to plan in the ‘passenger’s interest’.

Sweett Group is engaged by Network Rail to provide full pre and some post contract commercial management services across the Thameslink Programme.
