Firm will oversee estate strategy on PFI construction at Royal London and Barts hospitals

Drivers Jonas has been appointed by St Bartholomew's hospital and the London NHS Trust to advise on property issues in respect of its retained estate.

Construction is under way on the development of new hospitals on both the Royal London and Barts sites following final approval of the PFI scheme by the Department of Health in March 2006.

The development proposals are spread over three phases with the final phase of construction set to complete in 2016.

Drivers Jonas will provide estate strategy advice including general town planning advice and market valuations/appraisals.

The term of contract is three years. Commenting on the appointment, lead partner Mike Jones said it: “supplements the work we are doing with other London estates. We are delighted to win this commission despite tough economic competition.”
