Birmingham Development Company has been granted planning permission to build the final phase of the Mailbox scheme.

The £100m 17-storey cube was designed by architect Make, which has also been commissioned for Birmingham’s Digbeth Coach Station. Work on the mixed-use building is scheduled to start in spring 2006. It will include the city’s first rooftop restaurant above residential apartments with internal views over a twisting atrium. Further down, grade A office space is planned, with retail space and waterside restaurants at the base.
