A £70m mixed-use development in Altrincham, Cheshire, has been approved by Trafford council

Nikal's Altrincham development

Manchester-based developer Nikal has been given the go ahead for the Altair development, which will be built near a new £19m transport interchange scheme that is already underway in the historic market town.

The Altair scheme, designed by Ian Simpson Architects, is situated on the 4.5 acre site located between Tesco and Altrincham Leisure Centre, adjacent to the interchange, and will be a new gateway into the bus, tram and train station.

The project includes a new leisure centre; a range of leisure-based retail outlets, restaurants, coffee shops and cafes; a tenpin bowling alley; 150 new apartments and townhouses, as well as a high quality office space and a car park.

Manchester firm, HOW Planning, prepared and submitted the planning application for Nikal.
