Architect Allies and Morrison’s glazed office development at 85 Southwark Street has won the 2004 London Building of the Year Award from RIBA London.
No place like home
The building houses the practice’s own workforce. It beat off competition from 18 other award-winning buildings to take the overall prize. The project team also included structural engineer Whitbybird, services engineer WSP Group, QSs Barrie Tankel Partnership and Davis Langdon, contractor Mansell and fit-out contractor Spectrum Projects.
