This Foster + Partners-designed opera venue in Dallas opened its doors to the public last week
The 2,200-seat Margot and Bill Winspear opera house is the centrepiece of a $354m (£216m) performing arts centre, which also houses a hall designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and a theatre designed jointly by New York architect Rex and Rem Koolaas’ firm Office of Metropolitan Architecture. The venue, which will house the Dallas Opera and Texas Ballet Theatre, also includes a restaurant, cafes and a bookstore.
