Rail station will form part of major transport node at the White City Development in London.

Norwest Holst Construction has been awarded an £8.5 million contract to build a new railway station at the White City Development. This will form part of the Southern Interchange, a major transport node and gateway to the £1.4 billion White City mixed development.

As well as a new station the project will include staff and ancillary accommodation and a pedestrian footbridge. The station is due for completion at the end of 2005 when it will be adopted by Network Rail and operated by Silverlink.

The architect for the station is Ian Ritchie Architects and the structural engineer is Waterman Burrow Crocker
