New housing and commercial development will be built with 50,000 capacity stadium

These are the first images of Nottingham Forest football club’s new stadium planned for the Clifton area of the city.

Built in partnership with Wilson Bowden, the £40-45m stadium will have a capacity of up to 50,000 and will include new housing and commercial developments in Cliffton as well as “the latest in green technology and a new transport infrastructure”.

Notting Forest, who have been at the club’s ground on the River Trent since 1898, are planning to move to the new stadium by 2014.
