Norman Haste played key role in winning £2bn Hinkley job

Laing O’Rourke’s head of new nuclear, who played a key role in the firm winning the £2bn Hinkley civils package, Norman Haste, has retired from the firm.

Haste returned to Laing O’Rourke UK after three years heading up the firm’s work in the Middle East to play a key role in winning the Hinkley Point civils package.

He was project director on the construction of Sizewell B nuclear plant in the eighties and worked on the Severn Bridge crossing.

Roger Robinson has now taken over as head of the firm’s new nuclear operations while retaining his role as chief executive of Laing O’Rourke’s Europe Hub.
