Lewisham council has decided in principle to grant planning permission to a £120m project to transform the site of the Catford greyhound racing stadium into a 590-home development

The scheme is led by Countryside Properties and social landlord Hyde Housing Association, and is part of English Partnerships’ London-wide initiative to develop affordable homes for key workers. The plans, designed by architect Hunters, include a mix of accommodation ranging from one and two-bedroom flats to three and four-bedroom family homes, of which 35% will be affordable properties for social rent, intermediate rent and fixed-equity sale.
