Coatham Links site will give Cleveland town 340 new homes and a large leisure complex

A £89m Persimmon Homes scheme on the north east coast has gained planning approval.

Coatham Links is a mixed leisure and housing development on a 35-acre site close to the centre of Redcar in Cleveland.

The scheme was masterplanned by architect P+HS Architects and will include 200 seafront apartments and 140 family homes.

The leisure complex includes a swimming pool, bowling alley, visitor centre, cinema and performance and exhibition space.

The scheme will take place in stages over five years. Construction for the leisure complex and the first phase of housing is expected to start in early 2008.
