Former chief executive of EC Harris to retire from role of global director of marketing and communications
The former chief executive of EC Harris, Philip Youell, is to retire from his role of global director of marketing and communications at Arcadis, the Dutch engineer that EC Harris merged with under Youell’s tenure.
Youell (pictured), who is to retire at the end of September, said it had been an amazing experience to be a partner at EC Harris and an honour to be asked to be chief executive, adding that the firm had “been able to achieve a lot of what we wanted to achieve as a partnership”.
EC Harris has now been a part of Arcadis for four years and Youell said it had made a “big difference” in the firm’s ability to serve clients in the UK and across the world. Youell is a member of the senior management committee of Arcadis.
Youell said he believes he is leaving Arcadis in “great shape” and is to take a year off to travel before he considers what opportunities lie ahead of him.
