Huge 250-acre development will feature a revamped Brent Cross shopping centre, new parks, schools, and rail station

Hammerson, Multiplex and Standard Life have launched plans to regenerate a 250-acre area by creating a new town centre which will include 7500 new homes and a revamp of Brent Cross shopping centre.

The joint venture, known as the Brent Cross Cricklewood Development Partners, has started a public consultation process and will submit a planning application to Barnet Council that covers the Brent Cross and Cricklewood areas of north-west London.

As well as new homes the large-scale redevelopment programme is expected to provide 27,000 jobs, an improved high street, new parks, schools, health facilities, leisure centre, a new bus station and a new train station on the Midland Mainline.

The joint venture has worked on the plans with Barnet Council and the Greater London Authority.
