Construction Skills Academy in Southend will attempt to bridge the skills gap in the Thames Gateway.

Fraser Brown MacKenna Architects have submitted a planning application for a new Construction Skills Academy in Southend.

The Prospects College facility is designed to significantly increase the number of construction training places available in the Thames Gateway.

The design will house conference facilities and the three academies of the Centre of Vocational Excellence, and is due for completion in Spring 2007.

Fraser Brown MacKenna Architects won the project following an open design competition.
