Clegg Construction’s Energy Technology Building at the University of Nottingham is among a raft of projects shortlisted for the 2014 BREEAM awards.

The Nottingham building will compete against education projects in Edinburgh, Durham, Carmarthenshire and Dunfermline, for the BREEAM Education award.

Other buildings shortlisted for awards include the WWF Living Planet Centre in Woking, built by Bam Construction, which is shortlisted in the mixed-use category, and the Bombay Sapphire Distillery Buildings, built by Meller, which is shortlisted in the industrial category.

The awards ceremony will take place at Ecobuild in the first week of March.

Gavin Dunn, director of BREEAM  at the BRE, said: “The buildings on this year’s shortlist are fantastic examples of what can be accomplished through ingenuity, determination and belief in the enduring benefits of sustainable construction schemes.”
