KHK beats Capita Symonds in the final of the 16-team Richmond tournament sponsored by Building

Construction’s biggest names got their knees muddy and noses bloody as they battled it out for the prestigious Rugby 7s cup last Sunday.

The sun was shinning all day at the Richmond Athletic Association Ground as 16 teams took part in Construction and Property Rugby 7s. Sponsored by Building magazine and Hays Construction & Property, this was the fourth staging of the sporting event that raises money for the construction industry charity Lighthouse Club.

Cost consultant KHK won the final victory with 24-7 points over Capita Symonds. The firm had narrowly beat a very strong Clancy Docwra team 28-24 in the semi-finals.

The Bellway team who had travelled all the way from Scotland thought they were onto winner when they defeated a combined EC Harris/Taylor Woodrow team 19-0 in the Plate semi-finals, but lost to Cass Business School, who took the trophy.

The good weather, barbeque, bar, hospitality marquees and a facepainter for the kids kept friends and family amused all day.

Participants:

Beechcroft Developments, Bellway Homes, Building, Capita Symonds, Cass Business School, Clancy Docwra, EC Harris, Poster & Partners, Hays, KHK Group, Longcross Group, Mace People, Pinsent Masons, Sense Cost Consultancy, Ship Shape, Taylor Woodrow, Turner & Townsend and the University of West England.
