Developer to submit detailed plans by the end of the year

Developer Quintain will submit a detailed planning application for the 12.6 million sq ft Greenwich Pennisula regeneration scheme in east London by the end of the year.

The developer said it was pushing ahead with the scheme after securing Hong Kong investor Knight Dragon as a joint venture partner and £300m of development capital in June.

Quintain already has outline planning approval for the scheme, which includes 10,000 new homes, a 3.5m sq ft commercial district, shops, hotels and schools.

Building reported last month that entertainment firm AEG is also pushing ahead with plans to build a £65m 450-bed hotel next to its O2 arena, also on Greenwich Penninsula.

AEG is speaking to contractors ahead of issuing a tender for the scheme, which already has planning permission.
