Firms given until end of next month to register interest

Contractors have been put on notice for a £1.6bn modular construction framework advertised on Contracts Finder, the UK’s post-Brexit answer to the Official Journal.

The deal, which is being procured by NHS Shared Business Services, is set to run for four years and can be used by a range of public sector clients in the education, healthcare and residential sectors.

The framework will run for four years

Contracts Finder said it was looking to appoint up to 30 firms across the framework's eight lots.

It said: “This framework aims to compliment the speed of modular and offsite construction by providing an equally quick, easy and compliant procurement route.”

The lots have been divided based on both the end use and permanency of the structure.

Lots one and two cover the provision of bespoke modular buildings for purchase and hire respectively, while lots three and four provide the same options for healthcare clients.

The framework's fifth and sixth lots cater for the purchase and hire of educational facilities, while lot seven is looking for contractors to provide modular residential accommodation for purchase.

The final lot will be for modular kitchens for both purchase and hire, as well as the provision of temporary catering equipment for hire.

The notice said all firms would be required to offer turnkey solutions including feasibility studies, planning applications, full architectural design, enabling works, site works, landscaping and soft landings.

Firms have until 31 March to register their interest.
