The £8.5m Hampstead Theatre is due to be completed this month, ready for its first performance on Valentine's Day. The theatre has been rebuilt with £10m of Lottery funding as part of a push to regenerate the area. The low-rise, three-storey pavilion is four times larger than the original, and can accommodate between 150 and 325 people. Architect is Bennetts Associates, contractor is Dove Brothers and structural engineer is Curtins Consulting Engineers. Ernest Griffiths & Son is the services engineer, Buro Four Project Services is the project manager; acoustic and theatre consultants are Arup Acoustics and Theatreplan and cost consultant is Citex Bucknall Austin.
