Reinventing the wheel
Reinventing the wheel

A circular steel roof structure that is just like a bicycle wheel except that it is 50 m in diameter was dropped into position over a sports pavilion in London’s Regent’s Park last week. The £3.3m pavilion was designed by David Morley Architects. The two-storey structure will contain 20 changing rooms in a partly submerged ground floor and a circular community and club room up above with panoramic views of sports pitches. The pavilion is being built by Verry Construction, with Price & Myers as structural engineer and Max Fordham as services engineer.
