The $294m (£189m) Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago, designed by Renzo Piano, has opened its doors to the public

The 264,000ft2 extension brings the size of the museum to over 1 million ft2, and makes it the second largest art gallery in the US after the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
