Construction manager RGCM has set up a new subsidiary to focus on strategic consultancy for financial institutions.
Spire PM, which was set up at the end of last year, is being headed by Dudley George, Norwich Union's former head of construction procurement.

George left Norwich Union last year following the firm's merger with Commercial Union.

Spire PM, which is based in Norwich, has already taken over the merged pair's procurement and project management strategy.

George said the set-up was seeking other portfolios. He said: "We are looking at other institutional funds and bigger firms in the financial sector. We have the benefit of understanding their value systems." George said the firm would work with RGCM, which has 135 staff, to offer a cradle-to-grave service from consultancy to construction management.

Croydon-based RGCM's other new business – an Irish joint venture called RG-Green – has just won a £40m job in Dublin. The mixed-use scheme, whose client has yet to be revealed, is in the regeneration zone off O'Connell Street.
