Only existing RICS members can normally apply for fellowship, but each year the organisation honours a small number of professionals from surveying-related backgrounds.
A member of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and former chair of its East Midlands’ branch, Ramsay-Dawber will collect his fellowship diploma from the RICS president Peter Goodacre at a ceremony in London in March.
After studying construction at Nottingham Trent University’s forerunner, Trent Polytechnic, Ramsay-Dawber underwent a nine-year spell in industry before rejoining as a lecturer 20 years ago. He then became a senior lecturer and director of Undergraduate Studies before becoming the university’s academic team leader for Construction Management.
