Organisation launches Charity Property Help to provide free support and guidance to voluntary organisations

RICS will launch Charity Property Help, a scheme that provides free support and guidance on all property matters to charities and voluntary organisations.

RICS president, Peter Goodacre

The economic downturn is dramatically affecting charitable donations.

Launched in partnership with National Council of Voluntary Organisations and Charity Finance Directors Group, the scheme will provide registered charities and voluntary organisations a one hour consultation with a member firm or an RICS member free of charge.

Peter Goodacre, RICS president, said: "Chartered surveyors have a working knowledge of the legislative requirements relating to the property issues that charities may face.

"RICS is encouraging Chartered Surveyors to give back to the community and commit to pro bono work and register with RICS to offer this service.

"This will enable voluntary organisations to gain the right advice from Chartered Surveyors on all property related issues."

RICS is seeking to register a network of RICS firms and members who would like to take part in this scheme.
