QS will project manage construction of Broadway Malyan’s design for Warwickshire cricket ground expansion

Consultant Rider Levett Bucknall has been appointed to oversee the £30m revamp of Edgbaston cricket ground in Warwickshire, designed by architect Broadway Malyan.

The firm said it has been named project manager and QS on the scheme, which will increase capacity at the ground by 4,000 if given the go-ahead.

As well as the provision of additional seating, facilities for media, players and guests will also be upgraded and new changing rooms, bars and restaurants built.

Birmingham-based urban regeneration company MCD Developments has been appointed to deliver the project. Planning consultant Turley Associates is also on the team.

If the scheme gets the green light from UK planners, work is scheduled to start next autumn.
