Alistair Brand dismissed on the spot at firm’s Glasgow studio

The managing principal of architect RMJM in Scotland has been fired by the firm and escorted from the practice’s Glasgow studio.

Alistair Brand, a longstanding member of staff at the firm’s Glasgow office, was dismissed on the spot this morning with RMJM declining to elaborate on the grounds for his dismissal.

A spokesman for RMJM said only: “RMJM can confirm that he has been dismissed.”

This weekend, Scottish newspaper the Sunday Herald published allegations in two articles about RMJM that have since been removed from the title’s website.

RMJM said in a statement: “Following publication of two articles in this weekend’s Sunday Herald containing a number of misleading, inaccurate and defamatory allegations, lawyers acting on behalf of RMJM have written to the editor demanding a retraction and apology, as well as payment of damages.”
