Tulloch Transport and Rok Civils attract no interest from potential buyers of Rok

Eighty-seven employees lost their jobs yesterday as two further subsidiaries of contractor Rok were put into administration yesterday.

Inverness-based Tulloch Transport and Rok Civil Engineering were put into administration after potential buyers of Rok expressed little interest in the businesses.

Alan Brown, joint administrator at PwC, said: “As a result of little or no interest in these businesses, we have regrettably had to take the decision to close these businesses and make the entire workforce redundant.

“We understand the impact of this and will be working closely with the employees affected by this decision to ensure they receive the support they need and to assist with their claims for redundancy and other compensatory payments.”

The decision follows nearly 1,000 of the firm’s 3,800 employees being made redundant last week after it was put into administration. PwC had originally hoped to find a buyer for the business before the weekend, with more customers liable to terminate their contracts, the longer the sale process takes.
