Architects Llewelyn Davies and Watkins Gray International, who joined forces last August to serve the growing PFI markets in health and education, have worked up designs for a PFI school at Blakesley in Birmingham.

The scheme is one of the designs being used by the alliance for its £60m PFI schools programme for the city, which it won as preferred bidder with the Balfour Beatty consortium. It has also won PFI contracts from Interserve for £75m for Bradford schools, and from Ferrovial for £90m for schools in Bristol. Both deals are part of the Department for Education and Skills’ Building Schools for the Future programme.
