Balfour Beatty has won the £32m design-and-build contract for phase two of the redevelopment Edinburgh's post office. The building, in Waterloo Place, is to become offices. Balfour is completing the first phase of the project – demolition of the core and retention of the grade A-listed facades. The offices will be set back from the retained facade to create a perimeter atrium. The client is Castlemore Edinburgh, architect is Hugh Martin Partnership, project manager is Cyril Sweett, structural engineer is Arup Scotland and services engineer is Rybka Battle.
