What's in a name? A lot it would seem for YJL, the construction, investment and development group, which is now known to the London Stock Exchange as Montpellier Group.

But the contracting operation will keep the YJL brand, as a spokesman for the firm was at pains to point out.

The change was announced at the same time that YJL received a £5.6m dowry for taking on Allen's troubled construction arm. That news barely caused a ripple, with YJL's share price falling 1% to 24.75p. Meanwhile, Persimmon's conquest of Beazer continued, with the Beazer name disappearing from the stock market, effective today.
