Applications are being sought for the next chairman of the industry training body

A search has begun for a new chair of ConstructionSkills with the current chair Sir Michael Latham due to step down in March after seven years in the role.

The hunt is being led by the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and will require someone to be available for two-days a week in London.

The closing date for applications is 30th October 2009.

Mark Farrar, cheif executive of ConstructionSkils said: “The industry expects strong leadership during a period when many businesses are struggling, and with training absolutely crucial to the long term success of this sector, we need a chair that can provide the right level of influence, guidance and drive to move the industry forward.”

Interviews will be held in late November 2009 in London.
