Don't miss out on your chance to be on the roll of honour at this year’s Sustainability Awards as well as attend a one-day conference on the latest environmental challenges for our industry

For a fifth year Building is inviting companies that excel at green construction to enter the prestigious Sustainability Awards. But hurry there are only three weeks left to submit your entry before the deadline at 5pm on 4 September.

The awards ceremony, jointly hosted by the UK Green Building Council, is part of a double bill of green events, which also include a day-long conference with high profile speakers from the industry, politics and opinion leaders.

The conference, Making Sustainable Development Happen 2009, is a chance to share best practice, debate the major challenges and hear from the experts who will be setting the agenda in the future.

Both events take place on 24 November at the newly-opened Kings Place in the regenerated King’s Cross area of London – which itself has secured a “very good” BREEAM rating.

The categories for the Sustainability Awards 2009 are:

  • Sustainable Designer of the Year (architect or engineer)
  • Sustainable Contractor of the Year (main or specialist)
  • Sustainable Consultant of the Year
  • Sustainable Housebuilder or Housing Provider of the Year
  • Sustainable Client/Developer of the Year
  • Sustainable Manufacturer or Supplier of the Year
