Cartwright Pickard Architects has capitalised on the success of its Murray Grove social housing in London and its Sixth Avenue Apartments in York to export its expertise in off-site construction to the USA. The practice has been selected to work with a Chicago developer on a modular flats to be built over car parks. The idea is to take advantage of underused space to build affordable housing.

  • Cartwight Pickard was named this week as winner of an Anglo-French housing competition run by CABE to design affordable housing in White City with French firm B+C Architectes. Proctor Matthew and Michel W Kagan will work on a scheme in Rayners Lane Estate in Middlesex.
