Rapidly growing consultant Cyril Sweett has merged with cost consultant Gordon Harris Partnership South West, and is aiming to complete another purchase in the coming weeks.

The deal is part of Cyril Sweett’s expansion programme, which has seen the company grow from six offices two years ago to 11 offices today.

Chairman Francis Ives said: “This merger brings in considerable expertise and local knowledge. We are now looking at another deal and hope to make an announcement in the next week or so.”

The South-west is a new area for the company, which moved into Bristol offices in February under the direction of Peter Taylor. The consultancy will now take over Gordon Harris’ Bristol office in Great George Street and is pledging to retain all staff.

Cyril Sweett’s merger with CE Ball in January added offices in Norwich and Leeds.

The newly merged unit will be known as Cyril Sweett incorporating Gordon Harris Partnership South West, and will employ 14 surveyors and project managers.

The senior partner in the Gordon Harris Partnership South West business, Chris Hatcher, will become regional director of the division.

Cyril Sweett claims to be currently managing construction projects to the value of £1.5bn.
