New images of under-construction £135m extension released

The British Museum has released images of its under-construction £135m extension, the World Conservation and Exhibitions Centre.

The museum said work on the project - designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners and constructed by Mace - is on schedule to complete this autumn. The exhibitions gallery will open in March 2014, while back-office space will be occupied by summer 2014.

On Monday the steel supplier for the job Rowecord Engineering fell into administration with the loss of around 430 jobs.
