Developers behind the £4.5bn Brent Cross and Cricklewood regeneration scheme have agreed to stump up £1bn in community benefits under a planning agreement with the council

About £700m will be spent on transport and £189m on environmental measures. It is thought to be the largest ever community benefits package put forward in a single planning application. The development is being taken forward by Hammerson and Standard Life, the owners of Brent Cross shopping centre, and a joint venture between Hammerson and Brookfield Europe which controls the rest of the 151 ha site.
