Work has been completed on the £257m James H Clark Centre at Stanford University in California, designed by Foster and Partners in collaboration with US practice MBT Architecture. The corridors at the research unit have been replaced by external balconies to enable scientists to change the layouts of laboratories. A forum in the courtyard will be used for exhibitions and concerts. The project team includes US firm Hathaway Dinwiddie as construction manager and Davis Langdon & Everest as QS.
