Redland has updated its range of thin leading edge interlocking concrete slates.

Called Slate 10, the company says the new range is quick to lay and has a BRE Green Guide to Specification rating of A+, which specifiers can take advantage of when building to the Code for Sustainable Homes.

The new range only requires 10 slates per m2 as the amount of overlap has been reduced from 112mm to 75mm compared with the old range. The slates are suitable for pitches as low as 17.5°. There is no requirement for eaves and top slates, and the slates can be fixed with a single nail using either aluminium alloy or stainless steel ringshank nails. A variety of different colours is available, including Flame Red and Rustic Brown.
