Land Securities Trillium, Amec and VINCI/St Modwen make Defence Estate shortlist to provide accommodation for the MoD.

Three teams have made the shortlist of a competition to deliver the construction requirements of he Ministry of Defence in London.

The Defence Estate announced that Land Securities Trillium, Amec and VINCI/St Modwen had been issued an invitation to negotiate following detailed evaluation of their outline proposals.

The three were among seven teams who submitted their proposals in February for Project MoDEL (MOD Estate in London). The contract will be awarded in July 2006.

Chief executive of Defence Estates Vice Admiral Peter Dunt said: “It was a difficult task selecting only three bidders to progress to the ITN stage, but we are confident that we have picked three excellent candidates.”

Project MoDEL is designed to deliver an estate within Greater London that can support the long-term military and operational requirements of the MoD and potentially the United States Visiting Forces.

RAF Northolt is to be developed as an MoD site, incorporating personnel and facilities from Inglis Barracks, Mill Hill, RAF Uxbridge and RAF Bentley Priory. The Woolwich Estate is to be consolidated.

English Partnerships will be available to work with the winning developer or consortium on the Project MoDEL sites.
