law firm Fenwick Elliott has selected Building columnist Simon Tolson as a senior partner.
The decision to promote Tolson, 42, follows the retirement of the firm’s founder and former senior partner Robert Fenwick Elliott. Tolson begins his role on 1 April.

Last month, Chris Whittington, 45, joined the firm from Shoosmiths. Jeremy Glover and Matthew Needham-Laing have become full partners. Fenwick Elliott has also recruited Jon Miller, 39, from Masons and Nicholas Gould, 35, from Forsters as associates.

Tolson said: “Their skills and experience will add to our enviable breadth and range of expertise.”

Robert Fenwick Elliott will continue to act as a consultant.
