Contractor to build station and fire service training unit in Bradford for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Contractor Totty Construction has won a £4m contract to build a fire station and fire service training unit in Bradford.

The scheme, for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, will feature a fire station unit and training tower for simulated rescues. Work on the project is set to begin at the end of September.

The three-storey, steel frame structure, will feature a curved standing seam roof and brick facade, and a large maintenance area with five appliance bays. Internally, the station will house a large community room, offices, kit drying room and gym, with four sleeping areas, lecture room, kitchen and canteen facilities on the first floor.

The project is due for completion next auturmn.
