This 100 m swing bridge over the River Ouse is to be built by Skanska as part of a £42.6m contract for a bypass in Selby, North Yorkshire
The project, which includes roads, six junctions and six bridges, will divert the A63 from the west of Thorpe Willoughby to the north-east of Selby. Work is set to start this month and to finish in autumn 2003. Engineer High-Point Rendel designed the bridge. The client is the Highways Agency.
