Consultant sets out to make Cepsa petrol station across Spain and Portugal green

London consultant TwelveStars has set out to help redesign a chain of petrol stations across Spain and Portugal to make them more sustainable.

The firm is redesigning Petroleum and petrochemical company Cepsa's petrol stations after winning a pitch a year ago due. The first prototype was launched last week in Madrid.

The brief was to minimise the building and layout sections as far as possible.

Chief executive Nicolas de Santis said it had to “not just to look green like BP”.

He said his design team eliminated the amount of components used by half by taking out columns where they are not needed, and combining fire extinguishers, glove compartments and paper towels into single units.
